Instagram captions and links
Instagram caption links aren't tappable and no app can add product links to Instagram posts: add the product yourself with Add products in Instagram.
Settings → Accounts & platforms → Instagram has its own caption editor, under Your Instagram captions. Instagram doesn't make caption links tappable, so the editor's tokens are Video title and Hashtags only — there's no Amazon link token, because a link in the caption text wouldn't do anything for a viewer.
Where the link actually goes
Instagram doesn't make links in captions clickable, so we don't add your Amazon link there. No app can add product links or product tags to Instagram posts — Instagram doesn't let apps do it, EverySqueeze included. To have a product attached to your Instagram videos, add it yourself in Instagram with Add products. Setup says the same under the Instagram link options.
The phone app helps: its Links checklist on the Posts screen shows each Instagram post's saved product, lets you Copy saved affiliate link, and tracks which posts you've done.
Getting the link to people on Instagram
- Auto DM on Instagram sends the link by DM to people who comment a trigger word. See Auto DM.
- The Amazon link in the first comment is Facebook only: Instagram doesn't make links in comments tappable either, so it isn't posted on Instagram.
Auto DM on Instagram works when your Instagram is linked to your Facebook Page. If Settings says Reconnect Facebook to turn this on, your Facebook connection is older than Meta's approval: reconnect Facebook once. An Instagram account connected on its own (not through a Page) still waits on Meta for Auto DM.
The template is saved to your account and applies to every Instagram post: automatic and scheduled posts, and Post now from the desktop Composer or the phone app. A caption you type yourself fills the caption chip.
