Caption cleanup for automatic posts
Strips TikTok-only hashtags and leftovers like Replying to @handle from captions EverySqueeze writes for you.
Settings → Accounts & platforms → Facebook has Caption for automatic posts, with two choices: Keep my TikTok caption exactly or Clean it up. It applies to captions the automatic posting system writes for both Facebook and Instagram from your TikTok caption — a caption you type yourself is never changed. Either way, a Facebook post that carries an Amazon link ends with #ad unless the caption already says #ad or similar (the Add #ad to Facebook posts with an Amazon link switch, under the Facebook link setting, turns that off).
What "Clean it up" removes
A leading Replying to @handle line, and hashtags that only make sense on TikTok: the curated list includes tags like #tiktokshop, #fyp, #foryou and #tiktokmademebuyit, plus any tag ending in tok (for example #cleantok or #booktok). Your own words and other hashtags stay untouched.
Why it matters
TikTok leftovers on a Facebook or Instagram post read as an obvious repost. If cleanup leaves nothing behind, EverySqueeze falls back to the video's title instead of posting an empty caption.
This is separate from the caption template's tokens — cleanup runs on your caption text first, before the template or the Amazon link is added.
