Older videos per day (backlog pacing)
Posts a set number of your older TikToks to Facebook and Instagram each day, inside your Posts per day.
Settings → Posting schedule has a Post older videos card. Turn on its switch (Post older videos automatically in the phone app and the older layout) and EverySqueeze posts your eligible older TikTok videos to Facebook and Instagram each day, alongside your new videos. "How many per day" sets the count: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 or 12 (turning the switch on starts at 3). Turning the switch off stops the drip.
How it works with Posts per day
Older videos are part of Posts per day, never extra. Posts per day is the total a platform gets in one day and it counts everything: new TikToks, older videos, scheduled posts and ones you post now. "How many per day" on this card is the most of those posts that may be older videos, counted across Facebook and Instagram together (an older video that goes to both uses two).
Example: Facebook is set to 5 posts per day and older videos to 3. On a day when 2 new TikToks post, 3 older videos post too and Facebook reaches 5, so it is full. On a day with no new TikToks, 3 older videos post and the drip stops there. Either way Facebook never gets more than 5. See Daily limits. "Start with" sets the order the backlog works through your library: Oldest first works through it in order; Newest first starts with the ones you made most recently. No video is posted twice either way.
"Include videos without a product" (on unless you turn it off) lets older videos that have no TikTok Shop product at all post too, once EverySqueeze has checked the video for one (a video not checked yet waits; the line counts those as "not checked for a product yet"). They post without an Amazon link, because there is no product to link. A video that does have a product we aren't sure of still waits until you confirm it, unless you chose Balanced or Always link under When we’re not sure of the product (see Confirm a product to get your Amazon link). Turn the switch off to post only older videos with a product.
Under the card a line says which older videos can post right now, for example 43 older videos can post · 0 waiting on a product confirmation · next check about hourly. EverySqueeze looks for older videos about once an hour, or about once a day when you have posted no new TikToks for a week. When none can post, the line says why: older videos are off, automatic posting is paused, Facebook and Instagram automatic posting is off, every video is waiting on a product confirmation, the videos have not been checked for a product yet, the videos have no product and the switch is off, or nothing is left (every older video is already posted or queued, or is an imported history, a manual upload, a held re-upload, removed from TikTok or a post that failed).
New videos come first. When the coming days are full of older videos, a new TikTok (or a post you schedule without picking a time) takes the earliest older video's time, and the older videos each move one place later, in the same order. A post you set a time for never moves for this. Each day's plan also holds no more older-video posts than your "How many per day" number, so a day is not filled with older videos that could not go out that day anyway.
Older videos never fill the whole schedule either: room is always kept for new TikToks and for anything you schedule yourself. If the schedule is full anyway, the older video scheduled furthest out steps aside for the new one and comes back around later.
